Bantam Travel Hockey Team Wins Binghamton
Thanksgiving Tournament
The Ithaca Bantam travel hockey team won the 2004 Jr. Senators Thanksgiving Tournament this past weekend in Binghamton. Ithaca tied Bethlehem 2-2 and lost to Binghamton 3-1 on Friday. They came back on Saturday to beat the Syracuse Stars 7-2 and had a 3-2 win against the New Jersey Colonials on Sunday morning to advance to the championship game against Binghamton. The two teams were tied 2-2 after regulation play and the 5 minute overtime, leading to a 5 man shootout. Goalie, Zach Wilder, saved all 5 shots. Ithaca scored for a 3-2 win. The team is now 20-3-1 for the season. Bantam Travel also won the Clifton Park Between the Pipes Tournament earlier in November. Team members are: Mark Menzenski, Cody Fisk, Jimmy Carroll, Tony Stephans, Ian Gilmour, David Golay, Torin Varn, Matt Watson, Shayne Fedorka, Kyle Seyler, Pete Massicci, Matt Carpenter, Zack Knewstub, Jess Esposito, AJ Fiore, Gabe French, Alex Yale-Loeher, Sean Callinan, and Zach Wilder. The team is coached by Earl Carpenter, Tom VanNederynen, and Terry Fisk. |
