Ithaca PeeWee Hockey Places Second at International Silver Stick Finals
The Ithaca PeeWee Hockey Travel team placed second in the International Silver
Stick Finals in Port Huron, Michigan on Sunday, January 11. Ithaca met
Tavistock, Ontario in the championship game. Ithaca led 1-0 with a breakaway
goal by Craig Esposito in the second period. They held their lead until 3:34
left in the third period when Tavistock scored to tie the game. With less
than two minutes left, Tavistock scored again on a penalty shot and then an
empty net shot. Ithaca's Conor Stokes scored for Ithaca with 8 seconds on the
clock bringing the score to 3-2. Tavistock scored the final goal on an empty
net ending the game with 4 goals to Ithaca's 2. Craig Esposito and Conor
Stokes were recognized as Silver Stick All Stars in the closing ceremony.
Other team members are Max Addy, Matt Carpenter, T.J. Cretney, Jess Esposito,
A.J. Fiore, Cody Fisk Colby Gee, Zach Hughes, Tyler St. Denis, Kyle Seyler,
Christian Shaw, Ben Shulman, Tyler Trueman, Torin Varn and Robbie Young.
The team is coached by Earl Carpenter, Terry Fisk, Wayne Stokes, and Tom
VanNederynen and managed by Laura Fiore.
